Counselling Service

Counselling Service

Counselling is a place where you can talk about issues that are troubling you, that make you feel sad, confused or uncomfortable.  A counsellor gives you the opportunity to talk about what troubles you and to be listened to without judgment, in confidence and in a safe environment. Counselling is not about giving you advice or telling you what to do, but will help you to explore your feelings and find your own way of living your life more productively.

Counselling is offered to give you a time to talk about you.  YRFT understand that at times this may be difficult, however we believe it is important to work at your pace.

Counselling is offered to individuals around a range of presenting issues:

  • depression
  • life changes
  • domestic violence/abuse
  • relationship challenges
  • bereavement and loss
  • anxiety
  • redundancy
  • retirement
  • low self-esteem
  • self-harm
  • loss of purpose
  • assertiveness
  • trauma
  • disability
  • sexuality
  • rape and sexual violence
  • and more
